Smart Growth for Blanco County's Future

Our tight-knit communities in Blanco County are built on tradition, spirit and local leadership. I will work alongside you to preserve our historic charm while welcoming responsible growth. Together, we’ll ensure that the same small-town values and natural beauty that brought our families here will be here for our grandchildren, supported by strong infrastructure, smart planning, and a commitment to the people who make this county special.

Faith, Family and Forward Thinking Vision

Todd’s values are rooted in his faith as a member of First Methodist Church in Johnson City and decades working the land as a rancher and conservationist. He believes in spending taxpayer dollars wisely, staying proactive instead of reactive, and planning today for the challenges tomorrow will bring. Public safety, fiscal responsibility, and smart growth aren’t just talking points, they’re the principles that he wants to focus on most.

A Father & Grandfather's Fight for Future Generations

When all three of Todd’s daughters left for Texas A&M, he wondered where life would take them. Today, Amber, Brooke, and Brittni have all come home, raising their families right here in Blanco County alongside six grandkids—Truett, Taryn, Harper, Holdyn, Briggs, and Corbin. Todd’s fighting to keep Blanco County the kind of place worth coming back to.

A Lifetime of Service to the Land and Community

For 37 years, Todd has served Blanco County; first, as a County Extension Agent teaching methology in the areas of Agriculture, Natural Resource Conservation, and Youth Development, then as a JCISD School Board member for 12 years, and as a volunteer with North Blanco County EMS, the Fair and Rodeo Association, and other community organizations. He’s earned locals trust one handshake, one hay bale, and one board meeting at a time.

Blanco County Commissioner Precinct 2

"I started thinking about what I can do to help the future of Blanco County. I’ve got children and grandchildren here, so what can I do to help keep this a beautiful place to live, as well as a great place to do business”

Now, with three daughters raising six grandchildren right here in Blanco County, the stakes have never been more personal. Todd knows that the decisions made today will shape the county his grandkids inherit tomorrow. He’s not just planning for the next few years, he’s planning for the next generation.

With unprecedented growth coming, Blanco County needs a commissioner who understands both preservation and progress. Someone who can work with developers while protecting what makes this place special. Someone who’s already proven they’ll show up, do the work, and put the community first.

That’s Todd Swift. And he’s ready to serve as your County Commissioner for Precinct 2.
